Technical Project Coordinator

IPS are a leading technical supplier to the events industry, with projects including Staging & Structures as well as the supply of Lighting, Rigging, Sound, Video & Power equipment and services. We mainly work behind the scenes supplying other companies and agencies, but our equipment is regularly to be found onsite on all kinds of projects all over the UK and beyond.

As a Technical Project Coordinator, you would be based in our Milton Keynes offices, and report to our Head of Technical.  would involve working closely with IPS Project Managers and other heads of department. On a day-to-day basis, the role would include:

  • Working with IPS Project Managers, Heads of Departments and both new and existing suppliers
  • Developing concepts from initial ideas to structurally sound solutions that work within the budget as well as creative aspirations, that can be constructed safely within appropriate project timeframes
  • Producing 2D and 3D plans using AutoCAD and Layplan software both for client information and as onsite and build documentation
  • Generating accurate equipment lists from plans using HireTrack software
  • Advising on structural solutions based on available IPS Staging & Structures product range as well as other inventory items
  • Working with both Staging & Structures/Rigging type projects, as well as ideally Sound/Lighting/Video/Power based projects too – and often the integration of both elements.

The role would suit someone who has excellent technical and computer skills and is keen to work as part of a busy team. Previous practical experience would be a benefit, and a good working knowledge of Prolyte & Eurotruss rigging products and the Layher Allround and Event System is essential for this role. Structural engineering experience is not essential but would be beneficial. The ability to work within sometimes tight time constraints and manage multiple simultaneous projects is also important, along with a meticulous attention to detail and a desire for excellence.

Along with the salary and overtime package, IPS offers a company pension scheme, employee benefits and rewards scheme. Holiday allowances start at 20 days plus bank holidays per year, increasing to 22 days plus bank holidays after two years continuous service. An additional holiday day per year is then added annually up to a maximum of 25 days plus bank holidays.
